Facial Waxing

How to prepare for facial waxing?

  • Stop use of AHA's, BHA's, Benzoyl Peroxide, Retinols, and bleaching agents like Hydroquinone, at least 7 days prior to your service - these ingredients are typically found in anti-aging and acne products

  • No chemical peels, enzyme masks, microdermabrasion, exfoliation within the last 7 days of scheduled appointment

  • No use of the following prescription medications within the last 6 weeks: Retin-A, Differin, Renova, Refissa, Tretinoin, Adapalene, Tazarotene and Tazorac

  • No tanning beds / excessive sun exposure 48 hours before appointment

*If the above directions are not followed, it can result in skin lifting, irritation, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, and scarring.

Body Waxing

How to prepare for body waxing?

  • You can take a pain killer (Tylenol, Advil, etc.) 30 mins before your scheduled wax
  • Wear loose fitting clothing to your appointment
  • No caffeine the day of your appointment
  • Drink lots of water
  • No tanning beds / excessive sun exposure 48 hours before appointment
  • Exfoliate well in the area to be waxed 24-48 hours before your scheduled waxing appointment (exfoliation glove, dry brush, body scrub, etc)

*this results in less hair breakage during your wax, leaving you more smooth, in addition to a more comfortable waxing experience

Note: in general, dry skin/hair does not tolerate wax well - this results in broken wax strips, broken hairs, uncomfortable wax, etc. - moisturizing the skin is important for a smooth wax
